Full Moon rising over Brickell Key, Florida. The Moon was at its closest distance to Earth since 1948 allowing the Moon to be about 7% larger and 16% brighter than an average Full Moon.

This boat was sunk by Hurricane Irma and sat in the water for months afterwards. I was able to get this shot before the boat was finally salvaged and towed away.

The Miami Circle is perhaps one of the oldest structures in the US at possibly 2,000 years old. There were 24 holes dug forming a perfect circle. Examination of the earth revealed numerous archaeological artifacts, ranging from shell-tools and stone axe-heads to human teeth and charcoal from fires.

I had wanted to get a picture of the Miami Circle for years but there was either not a good storm, or too many people in the area. Fortunately on this night there were few people and a nice storm.

This Moonrise over Miami reminded me of my childhood watching Miami Vice on TV.

Clear nights in Miami are rare, but I took the opportunity this night to get a time-lapse of Brickell. Unfortunately there is still a ton of light pollution blocking out most stars.
